as an on location photographer, weather is pretty crucial to our sessions. being in the bay area of california, we tend to be fortunate with beautiful days and stunning golden sunsets so i typically don’t need to worry about weather.
for this san jose park session, the weather forecast was cloudy with zero chance of rain. awesome, right? i woke up to beautiful blue skies and white poofy clouds in the distance. the afternoon brought dark clouds that loomed over us. two hours before the session, the rain came. at this point, i almost collapsed with delirious laughter. i let the family know if they wanted to go the back up route or risk it. they chose to risk it, yay!
the clouds stayed but most importantly, the rain held off. for the last shot, i wanted to hike up the hill for some silhouette shots and in what was perfect timing, the clouds parted and the sun came out for five minutes before it set. and not only were we treated to a stunning sunset, mom surprised me by bringing her daughter’s up inspired shirt, goggles and hat which made the hill shots perfect.
goodness, after a long “what’s with this weather” kind of day, i am so happy for this amazing, risk taking and beautiful family’s session. thank you for having me a part of your special announcement and i really can’t wait to meet the little ones!
