oh the newborn haze. when you can’t remember the last time you ate or you have an odd kink in your neck and you realize it’s because you’ve been staring down for an endless amount of time. it’s a definite haze and soon, that haze will be completely forgotten. the learning curves of discovering how to care for a newborn becomes a distant memory but they are the best memories. and that’s why i love coming into a family’s home and spending the day with their newborn. capturing all the moments of their newbornness from their tiny feet next to dad’s hands or tracing their outline of their hair to even the strength and resourcefulness of feeding your little while their still learning how to nurse. and this san francisco newborn lifestyle session was all of that and more.
their sweet little was just over a week old and she was incredibly calm, alert, sweet and mellow (and smiley! i know they say it’s gas but seriously those are baby smiles). she was a natural! i spent the day with them soaking in all of the love plus capturing a few of her firsts. her first bath. her first cuddle with grandpa. her first walk around the mission. her first trip to balmy alley for some murals. i love this stage and these moments.
thank you so much for welcoming me into your home and spending time witnessing and capturing your incredible love and bond with your sweet girl.
and this is probably my favorite photo. her little buddy with the paw on the leg and her crying just gets me, i don’t know why but it does! giggle!
