every once in awhile, i’ll include a roll of film in a session. i always carry a film camera with me but sometimes a session is crazy and i completely forget that i have a film camera attached on my double holster ha! this sweet family,
i originally photographed this sweet girl when she was a newborn and her six-month session was shot on film. and goodness i loved the results. which is why for her one-year session, i knew that i had to include some film. i recently got back the scans from this sweet san francisco family and i t makes me excited knowing that i didn’t mess it up too much.
i’m still learning about film and figuring out the sweet spots with it but if anything, i love the uncertainty of my images. at least with digital, i can adjust settings as i go. with film, i pretty much wing it and hope that adjustments i make along the way are correct. and since i shoot families, i can’t take the time to log in my settings with each exposure like i did in college 🙂
shot on canon eos 3, portra 400. developed and scanned at millers lab
