one of my favorite things to do (besides photographing awesome families of course) is to explore a new place with the family. they live in alameda and went to the gardens at lake merritt for their autumn lights festival for the evening lights. even though they explored in the evening, they thought it would be a great place for our family fun session and they were right.
this garden is beautiful with so many different nooks, crannies, climbing walls, and pockets of amazing light. while we on our way out for ice cream, their little one scrapped her knee, and doctor mom and dad came to the rescue with their extra love, snuggles, and first aid kit.
having the ice cream treat as our next stop also helped the tears subside.
