Branding Tips for Small Businesses – Booked your branding session and are now curious as to the next things to think about? Here are a few tips to consider to prepare for your business branding session.
• Reviewing:
Take a look at your website, social media pages and get ideas of what content you feel is missing. Is your LinkedIn missing a current headshot? On your “About Me” page, does it need some behind-the-scenes images of you working? Review marketing materials, newsletters, and think about other areas where you can use your own images.
• What to wear:
When you are preparing for your shoot, think about your brand and how you want to convey your brand through clothes. For example, if you’re a casual brand, you don’t want to wear a high-end luxurious outfit with high heels, right? Or if you’re a luxurious brand, you don’t want to wear tennis shoes.
Pinterest is a great resource and starting point for inspiration.
Besides clothes, also think of accessories! Hats, scarves, handbags, jewelry, and more! A great additional accessory can go a long way to giving your image that polished finish plus offer a quick variety of looks.
• Your you:
Think about you, what is your “you!”? Coffee on the front porch while working, outdoor walks to recharge wearing your favorite team hat, or shopping at small boutiques. These small details that you rarely think about are great examples of what makes you, you.
• Props:
What do you use with your work? Laptop with cute case and bag? A daily planner that is customized with your business goals, art supplies, or coffee mug with your logo. Props at your disposal help during your brand session and add a bit of you in your brand shoot!
• Location:
Since we want to have your business and self shine, location is important to keep in mind. If your office is in a dark space, maybe we can find a way to have you work outside at your favorite restaurant. We also want to have a variety of looks so the location should have pockets of space to offer a range of looks.
