I’ve had the absolute honor to photograph this family from when they were a family of three to than a family of five. And this was the first time that the timing worked out so we can do an extended family session. Most of the family live in the Pomona area and I was down in the L.A. area for family time and Mom was down to visit her mom. They even drove back to the Bay Area after our session. So this timing was perfect.
A little back story on this first photo. Dad passed away a few years ago and they always think of rainbows with him because of his love of Hawaii to his favorite song, Somewhere over the Rainbow. Plus our session was a couple of days before his birthday and a week before Father’s Day. And this rainbow flare, was a touch of extra love.
That’s what I love about extended family sessions. It’s togetherness with the family, taking time out of the day to memorialize the family, the moments with each other, and laughing and being silly with each other.
