Family holiday traditions with baking cookies in pajamas | San Jose Family Photography
I love when I hear that you want to photograph your family holiday traditions! From setting up the holiday lights as a family to riding Sunol’s train of lights, photographing these special family traditions is one of my favorite sessions to photograph.
This fantastic family loves to bake cookies and especially, bake loads of cookies to gift to their neighborhood. So they wanted to have part of their session be about the togetherness and deliciousness of their family holiday tradition – cookie making in their holiday penguins pajamas.
They baked oatmeal cranberry cookies and brown butter chocolate chips. We had a hard time not eating the cookies throughout the session plus their house smelled so delicious!
Want to include baking in your session? Here are some helpful tips:
- prepare the kitchen by having all the ingredients, measuring spoons, mixers, whisks, etc already on the counter.
- have your oven already pre-heated. This helps make the best of our time during our session and we don’t have to worry about trying to find that spatula.
- if you want to make two styles of cookies, you can prepare one dough and have it chilled and ready to bake when our session begins.
