One of the best things I have learned about growing my business and myself has been to connect with other women business owners in the San Jose area. Being a solopreneur can be limiting with “co-workers” so being able to step out to the area and network has helped my connections and relationships grow with awesome business owners. The first networking group I joined was Women’s Networking Alliance in 2019 and the women I have met have not only been great connections but have fostered wonderful friendships. Our meetings are every three weeks at Legend’s Pizza in Morgan Hill and part of the meeting includes business spotlights where you get to talk about your business for ten minutes. For my recent presentation, I thought it would be a great idea to take them behind the scenes of how I can photograph a variety of headshot images in ten minutes.
I explained how I look for light and spots in an area that might be a great backdrop. The location was at a dead-end street next to Legend’s Pizza and it was fun to hear how many people didn’t think that this would be a good location for headshots. I loved showing them how I see things, how I can photograph to make the most of any location.
