• Dress for the Season (But Be You)
Fall colors like rust, mustard, navy, and deep green photograph beautifully outdoors. Think cozy sweaters, layered textures, and earth-toned accessories. Rather than matching perfectly, aim to coordinate with colors that complement each other.
Pro Tip: San Jose’s weather can be a little unpredictable—layer up so you’re ready for a cool breeze or a sudden warm-up.
• Choose the Best Time of Day
In the fall, golden hour arrives earlier in the day and it can be gorgeous. But if your family is hangry/tired/not the best with an early afternoon session, consider an early morning session instead. We want your family at its best!
• Prep the Kids (and Snacks!)
Let your kids know that this is going to be fun—no stiff poses or long instructions. I’ll guide everyone with playful prompts and let your family naturally shine. Bringing a few snacks always helps but think of easy snacks, nothing that can get stuck in teeths. Also bring along water because you know they get thirty quickly.
