Morning at home – Family photos location ideas
When planning your next photography session, think about starting your photo session with a morning at home before heading out on location. Starting off at home helps the family know they’re in a comfortable space and warm up. There are toys, games, snacks all at the ready and kids love to show off their own rooms!
Since doing family photos can feel stressful, starting at your house allows you to relax a bit more before it’s time to do the more formal photos. This also gives you a gallery of images that are a mix of lifestyle and natural photos.
With this family session, we started with donuts at home, hanging out in the backyard and checking out their kid’s awesome bedroom with all of her toys. Once everyone was ready, we loaded into their car to Kennedy Grove for formal photos in the eucalyptus grove. This gave us a fun morning being cozy and comfortable at their home, followed by some extra fun with traditional photos at the park.
So as you prepare for your family photos, and if you’re thinking about starting with something different, think about starting with morning at home and then head to a local park or favorite coffee shop, bagel shop, anything!
