Fall in San Jose is one of the most beautiful times of the year and the perfect season for cozy, joy-filled family photos. November and early December are the best time for your fall family photos to include those rice, fall colors for your backdrop!
November and December – Fall Colors
Yes, Bay Area leaves do change color and yes, we have seasons 🙂 There are so many areas in the Bay Area and San Jose area where there are leaves that are orange, red, yellow and vibrant as a backdrop for your fall family photos.
With November and December being awesome months for our Fall Season, there are some things to also keep in mind.
• Book your date with your photographer in advance, think one to two months in advance! Not only are the colors beautiful but it’s also the time of year when families are looking for photos for their holiday cards. So schedules can be tricky so make sure you book in advance.
• Think of the best time of day that works with your family! In the fall, golden hour arrives earlier in the day and it can be gorgeous. But if your family is hangry/tired/not the best with an early afternoon session, consider an early morning session instead. Your photographer will be able to work with the light conditions, no matter what time of day
• Weather can be hit or miss with November/December time frame. It can be super hot, windy, foggy, smokey or rainy. So make sure that you’ll be flexible for backup dates in case it’s needed. Most conditions are doable for a family session but if it’s a lot of rain, the grounds are muddy, or unsafe with smokey conditions, keep a backup plan of another date, or moving the session into your home.
