we’ve been talking about taking our oldest daughter to the snow since she was one and we finally got around to it (just four years later ha). we headed up to arnold, california which is about three hours away from san jose for our snow adventure weekend. so pretty much the perfect drive time with the littles. bear valley was a short drive away (though a bit longer since there was a storm during mlk weekend and we had to put chains on the minivan) and even though we don’t ski or snowboard, we still had fun tubing and playing in the snow.  we even fell in love with our weekend away and are day dreaming about how to find a quaint little cabin for us to purchase in the area.
and even though i brought along my camera for the weekend, it never came out of my bag so i managed to take zero photos with it but instead used my cell phone. sometimes it feels nice to just disconnect from the big camera and soak in the scene with something smaller that can quickly be put away so you can continue your snowball fight. though i will say that these first series of photos were in a large snow covered field with the sun setting and the mist creating a beautiful glow. i really wished that i had my camera for these but still love the cell phone perspective.
