We all know 2020 was a challenging year and with all the challenges, one of the silver linings has been the quality and love of family time. We were given extra time with our children and that cozy time in the home and backyard has become extra meaningful with our family and to hear that this family wanted to have their session in the own backyard filled my heart.
Their backyard family session was their happy place: a place where they enjoy fires by the fire pit, snuggle on a hammock, play in the pool or have dinner and watch a football game on their patio.
Being able to photograph in their happy place, especially before their son heads off to college is an absolutely incredible way to have their family fun session and truly cherish their time with each other.
Since their son is almost off to college, we wanted to include a bit of extra fun in their backyard family session and thought cookie decorating was it. He laughed when he said that he couldn’t remember the last time that he did this, enjoyed spending extra time creating with his little sister, and was proud of his final creation. Even his dad got in on the action by playing “basketball” with his son and the sugary eyeballs.
