Rule of thirds – How to use with business images – San Jose

Business images: Using the rule of thirds – San Jose business Photographer – Photos by Kim E

When it comes to business images for your business, it’s important to include images that are based on the rule of thirds. This is something that photographers include in your session because it helps your business with marketing purposes.

What is the rule of thirds? The rule of thirds is based on composition that places your subject on the left-third or right-third of the frame. With this composition, you have space on the left/right/bottom/top of your image that you can then include text.

How can this be applied to your business images?

Here are some before samples of photos where I included the rule of thirds.

Using Canva‘s premade templates, here are some quick ad samples where I dropped the image into their template. You can see how the rule of thirds allows space for text/graphics. This open space is perfect to provide information that can be used for advertising, marketing, and/or social media posts.

Hope these samples help when you’ve received images with space on the sides!
