Sometimes we get stuck in the day-to-day and we forget to take a step back and realize how these simple, daily moments matter. Every week, mom takes her daughter to ballet followed by the donut shop that is next door. Every week, her daughter packs her backpack, ballet shoes, and baby doll. And every week, mom sits on the sidelines, watching with the biggest smile as her daughter twirls. And it’s these moments that matter. The special weekly bond of mom and daughter is the perfect mom-and-daughter photo date. Because as her daughter gets older, these moments will slowly drift away from her memory but for mom, she’ll always remember this special time and the photographs will cherish these moments.
Mom knew that this time together is so important so when she reached out to photograph this tradition, I knew that it would be full of so much love, and connection. I was ecstatic that I could memorialize their bond in photographs, something that their daughter will see in the future and be brought back to this special time.
Mom and her daughter’s ballet and donut session reminds us that the best moments are often the simplest ones. During our fast-paced lives, these simple moments are an inspiration, they deserve to be photographed, and these photographs are a beautiful reminder of love, connection, and joy.
